This platform exists to help people give away items for free, reduce waste, and build trust-based local communities. These Community Guidelines explain what is allowed, what is not, and how we keep the platform safe and respectful for everyone.

By using this app, you agree to follow these guidelines. Violations may result in content removal, account restrictions, or permanent bans.

1. Our Community Values

2. What This Platform Is (and Is Not)

✅ This platform IS for:

  • Giving items away for free
  • Helping others access useful items
  • Building trust within local communities
  • Reducing landfill waste

❌ This platform is NOT for:

  • Selling items or charging fees
  • Running a business or commercial operation
  • Promoting services, events, or paid products
  • Scams, reselling, or misleading behaviour

3. Allowed Content & Behaviour

3.1 Item Listings

You may list items that are:

  • Free of charge (no money, fees, or “optional donations”)
  • Legal to own and give away
  • Accurately described (condition, defects, size, age, etc.)
  • Clean and safe for pickup

Good examples:

Furniture, clothing, books, toys, Small appliances in working condition, Household goods, Baby items (clean and safe), Electronics clearly marked as working or not.

3.2 Communication & Messaging

We encourage:

  • Polite and respectful communication
  • Clear pickup arrangements
  • Honest questions and answers
  • Timely responses when possible

3.3 Meetups & Pickups

Users are responsible for:

  • Choosing safe, public pickup locations where possible
  • Communicating clearly about availability
  • Showing up on time or notifying if plans change

4. Prohibited Content & Behaviour

The following are strictly prohibited:

4.1 Selling, Trading, or Fees

❌ You may NOT:

  • Sell items or ask for money
  • Request “tips”, donations, or delivery fees
  • Trade items for money, services, or favours
  • Redirect users to external selling platforms

This is a free-only platform.

4.2 Illegal or Dangerous Items

You may NOT list or request:

  • Weapons or weapon parts
  • Firearms, ammunition, explosives
  • Drugs, drug paraphernalia, or controlled substances
  • Alcohol, tobacco, vaping products
  • Prescription medication
  • Counterfeit or stolen goods
  • Recalled or unsafe products
  • Live animals

4.3 Harmful, Offensive, or Abusive Behaviour

Zero tolerance for:

  • Harassment, bullying, or threats
  • Hate speech or discrimination
  • Sexual content or solicitation
  • Intimidation or coercion
  • Doxxing or sharing personal information
  • Racist, sexist, or violent language

4.4 Scams, Fraud & Abuse

You may NOT:

  • Misrepresent item condition or availability
  • Collect items to resell for profit
  • Create fake accounts
  • Spam users or listings
  • Request personal or financial information
  • Attempt phishing or social engineering

4.5 Safety & Privacy Violations

You may NOT:

  • Share someone else’s address, phone number, or private details
  • Pressure users to meet in unsafe conditions
  • Harass users after a transaction
  • Record or photograph others without consent

5. Item Accuracy & Responsibility

As a giver, you are responsible for:

  • Honest descriptions
  • Declaring faults or missing parts
  • Removing listings once items are gone

As a receiver, you accept items:

  • As-is
  • Without warranties
  • At your own discretion

The platform is not responsible for item quality or outcomes.

6. Account Rules

Each user:

  • May only have one account
  • Must provide accurate profile information
  • Is responsible for activity on their account
  • Must not impersonate others

Accounts may be Warned, Temporarily suspended, or Permanently banned for guideline violations.

7. Reporting & Moderation

7.1 Reporting Content

You can report inappropriate listings, harassment, abuse, suspicious behaviour, or safety concerns.

Reports are confidential.

7.2 Moderation Actions

We may remove listings or messages, issue warnings, restrict messaging/posting, or suspend/ban accounts. Moderation decisions are final to protect the community.

8. Safety Guidelines (Strongly Recommended)

For your protection:

  • Meet in public places when possible
  • Bring someone with you
  • Trust your instincts
  • Do not share sensitive information
  • Leave immediately if you feel unsafe

If there is immediate danger, contact local authorities.

9. Children & Vulnerable Users

  • Users must be at least 18 years old
  • No exploitation or targeting of vulnerable individuals
  • Extra caution with children’s items and pickups

10. Platform Liability Disclaimer

  • Does not inspect items
  • Does not guarantee users’ behaviour
  • Is not responsible for losses, injuries, or disputes
  • Acts only as a connection service

Users interact at their own risk.

11. Updates to These Guidelines

We may update these guidelines as the community evolves. Continued use of the app means acceptance of the latest version.
